Our goal is to answer all of your questions while we spend our time together in France. But because of the nature of this photography tour, the key learning opportunities will be on:

Apertures & Shutter Speeds: We will discuss the different modes on your camera and the effect your aperture and shutter setting have on your images.

Composition: Learn how to improve your photography by applying ‘rules’ of composition.

Metering: While in the various cities we will encounter various high contrast situations within the architecture of the buildings. Proper metering techniques will play an important role in creating the best images you can while in France.

Autofocus & Techniques: Here you learn how to keep the focus on your subject whether taking a landscape image or photographing action!

Digital Darkroom: A Photographers Lounge photo tour is the perfect opportunity for any photographer to refine their post processing skills as we make ourselve available to show you editing styles during the workshop.

To start the tour we will bring the white ranch horses to a few different properties, allowing for a wide range of photogenic backdrops and behaviours.

We photograph the white horses running through the shallow water of salt marshes and along the beach in the waves and salt spray. With shots of fighting stallions, mares with their dark foals in the fields or at the ranches, and detailed portrait head shots and guardian riders in their gear.

We’ll have many opportunities to capture this time-honoured breed of horses in a variety of environments unique to this seaside estuary.

We will also take advantage of the sweet light at sunrise and sunset to silhouette horses with or without riders.

On the first Sunday we shoot a traditional celebration where riders lead black bulls through the town of Arles during the annual Fête du costume et Cocarde d'Or à Arles. An opportunity to experieince old French culture in an environment that lends itself to an abundance of photogrpahic opportunities.

During our first few days we will also shoot greater flamingos feeding, displaying and in flight at the Parc Ornithologique de Pont de Gau. Located in the middle of the Parc naturel régional de Camargue, the bird park’s natural habitats primarily include marsh and ponds with remarkable proximity to migratory and resident birds, such as flamingos, egrets, herons, storks, ducks, raptors and other small waders.

During our middle section of the trip you will stay two nights in the Parc Naturel du Luberon, a designated area of outstanding natural beauty. The Luberon valley is a picturesque landscape of vineyards, lavender fields flanking country roads, quaint delightful villages with local artisans shops, winding alleys and beautiful vistas.

We will take you through the French countryside to photograph the French landscape and quaint French towns that dot the landscape. Our focus will be the lavender that will be harvested in just a few weeks and the vineyards and olive orchards.

The true essense of Provence will be presented to you so that you can interpret through your lens.

To complete our trip we will walk the streets of Paris during the day and night to capture teh city of love and lights through your lens. We will hit the highlights and visit some "Off the beaten path" locations I have uncovered in my numerous visits over teh last 10 years.
